FPV
To get more familiar with onboard video recording and before going into real FPV, I first decided to start with video recording on a Model Airplane. The first model I used was a self designed Glider, "e-flinger", with a wingspan of 1mtr70.
The picture shows the glider. On the nose of the glider I sticked a Turnigy spycam. Some movies captured with this camera can be found below. More video's can be found on www.youtube.com/pavako1972
FPV stands for First Person View. In some lecture it's also called RPV (Remote Person View). A vehicle, this could also be an aeroplane, is actually controlled from the same view the driver or pilot would have as if he was inside the vehicle or the plane. To provide an onboard camera a pilot could remotely control the plane from a first person perspective. The video images are transmitted wireless to a video monitor or a video goggles. The technique is widely used in UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) radio controlled aircrafts.
