TELEMETRY
Telemetry is required to send important information to a ground station during FPV flying. When flying with a pair of goggles, the OSD (On Screen Display) could display information like battery voltage, altitude, GPS position, current consumption, horizon. To achive this I decided to add an additional module to my Futaba FC18 transmitter. The transmitter is already been patched using another one-way 2.4 GHz module. This patch was made to switch between 35 MHz and 2.4 GHz. Since all my model airplanes do have a 2.4 GHz receiver now I have decided to remove the 35 MHz module and replace it with a FrSky telemetry module.
The module has 3 wires to connect to PPM (YELLOW) GND (BLACK) and V+ (RED). Four other wires are connected to a small PCB (control panel) with a LED and push-button.
Three additional wires from this control panel are connected to a switch with three positions for:
A) FW -> firmware upgrade
B) 2-WAY -> Telemetry
C) 1-WAY -> Normal V8 mode, no Telemetry
